Department Scorecard

Purpose

The purpose of the Department Scorecard is to show department performance in production and realization.

Navigation

To navigate to the Department Scorecard, select Firm (1) from the list of pages on the left side of your screen. Once you are in the Firm page, you can use the buttons along the bottom (2) to switch between firm-focused reports. Department Scorecard is the third of these buttons.

Cards

There are five cards (3) at the top of the report. They show cash receipts, the invoiced amount by client, the invoiced amount by project, productivity, and the effective rate. The two invoiced amount cards will begin to differ from each other when department filters are applied, as each client must be assigned to one department, but projects within that client can be assigned to different departments.

You will notice that the cards on the Department Scorecard are different than those on some other reports. They include indicator arrows to quickly show if the numbers are up or down from the prior year. The cash receipts card will also show current year performance against the budget if the cash receipts budget has been provided.

Filters

The filters can always be found on the left side of your screen (4). Filters will vary by firm, so yours may not match exactly what is shown in this demo.

Visuals

Production by Position (5): shows a breakdown of hours between staff positions.

Billable Hours (6): shows the current year and prior year billable hours.

Realization / Productivity (7): shows realization details for each employee. There are current year and prior year columns for billable hours, billed net dollars, realization percent, effective rate, and productivity ratio. Each current year column includes arrow indicators to quickly show if the numbers are up or down from the prior year.

Drill Throughs

Note: not all clients use every page, so some lines in the drill through charts may not apply to you.
